Heat always goes from hot to cold. A bigger the temperature difference ensures that heat moves faster. It’s like a race between two snails, but one snail is super sluggish while the other is lightning fast.

That’s where the air conditioner comes in. It sucks up all the heat inside the home and dumps it outside, just like that. The system uses this thing called refrigerant, which gets pumped around by a compressor in the outside unit. This gaseous material flows through the evaporator coil.

Now, here’s where the real magic happens. The air from the furnace passes through the coil, and the refrigerant goes all radical on it, picking up all the heat.
